After breakfast at the resort, you’ll return to the deck and glide along the river to Camp Leaky, a reserve for older orangutans who are being released into their natural habitat. On the way you stop at Pondok Ambung, a tropical research station in the middle of the jungle. An incredible variety of colorful butterflies awaits you there. With a professional park ranger, you’ll have the opportunity to hike through the jungle in search of wild orangutans, gibbons, proboscis monkeys and macaques. You’ll also discover an incredible variety of colorful birds, reptiles and insects. In the dense jungle, with a bit of luck, you can also spot the rare flower of the largest plant in the world – the giant rafflesia (Rafflesia arnoldii).
You can also enjoy your lunch and dinner on board today (included). In the dark of night you then go back into the jungle to discover the nocturnal animals such as tarantulas, tarsiers, etc.
