E-TOURIST VISA

The so-called E-Tourist Visa has existed in India since 2014. This electronic visa can be applied for online at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html. The visa costs USD $ 80 and is valid for one year and multiple entries. Requirements for the visa are a passport that is still valid for at least 6 months and a passport photo that is uploaded to the website during the application. Payment is made online by credit card. After the successful applicant, the visa will be sent by email and must be printed out and presented at check-in at the home airport.

RESTRICTED AREAS

There are places in India that you cannot travel to with the e-Visa alone. You still need a special permit from the Ministry of Tourism, which must be applied for at least 4 weeks in advance. The so-called “restricted areas” include: Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh

MEET AND GREET

DRESS

Especially in warm areas, it is advisable to wear breathable clothing and avoid synthetic clothing. You should always have a light jacket or scarf with you, as the air conditioning in hotels, buses and restaurants is always set very strongly.
